Getting Started

OmahaMate is a GTO preflop solver and trainer for Omaha poker. It supports PLO, PLO8 (Hi-Lo), Limit Omaha, and Limit O8 across cash games and tournaments.

The app has two main modes:

Study Mode — explore optimal ranges for every position, action, and game configuration.
Trainer Mode — practice making correct preflop decisions against randomly dealt hands and situations.

Switch between modes using the STUDY and TRAINER buttons in the header. On mobile, use the hamburger menu to access all navigation.

Study Mode

Study Mode lets you explore the GTO-optimal preflop strategy for any spot.

Selecting a Position

Click or tap a seat label on the poker table (e.g. CO, BTN, SB). The optimal range for that position loads below the action buttons.

Navigating the Action Tree

After selecting a position, click an action button (FOLD, CALL, RAISE) to move deeper into the decision tree. The action history bubbles above the table show the sequence of actions taken so far.

Back — undo the last action and go up one level.
Reset — return to the starting position of the hand.
Share — create a short URL for the current spot (see Sharing & Exporting).

Reading the Range Display

Below each action button you will see a list of hands. Each row shows:

Hand — the four cards displayed visually.
% (Frequency) — how often this hand takes the action in the optimal strategy (0-100%).
bbEV (Expected Value) — the expected profit or loss of taking this action, measured in big blinds.

Click the % or bbEV column header to sort the range ascending or descending.

Trainer Mode

Trainer Mode generates random preflop situations and deals you a hand. Your goal is to pick the action with the highest expected value.

How It Works

A random game situation and hand are generated.
Choose FOLD, CALL, or RAISE.
The app reveals whether you picked the highest-EV action and shows the EV of every option.

Scoring

Your stats are tracked during each session:

Hands Played — total situations attempted.
Accuracy — percentage of correct answers.
Streak — current consecutive correct answers.

Show Combos & Go To Study

After answering, click Show Combos to see the full optimal range for that situation. Click Go To Study to jump into Study Mode at the exact same spot for deeper analysis.

Strategy Setup

The Strategy Setup panel controls which strategy tree is loaded. On desktop it appears in the left sidebar; on mobile, tap the STRATEGY SETUP button.

Game Type

Choose from PLO, PLO8, LIMIT O, or LIMIT O8.

Format

CASH — cash game strategy trees.
MTT — tournament strategy trees.
ANTES — toggle antes on or off.
STRADDLE — toggle straddle on or off (cash only).

Rake

Select NONE, LOW, or HIGH rake levels. Availability depends on the game type and format selected.

Players & Stack Size

Choose a stack size (10BB through 200BB). The available player counts (heads-up, 6-max, 7-max, 8-max) depend on the strategy selected.

Hand Filters

Hand Filters narrow the displayed ranges to hands matching specific criteria. Open the filter panel from the HAND FILTERS button on the right side (or in the mobile menu).

Filter Syntax

4 cards — KQTT shows all KQTT combos.
2 cards — AK shows all AKxx hands.
Pairs — 77 shows all 77xx hands.
Suited — (AJ) shows all AJ suited hands.
Plus — JT+ shows all cards JT or better.
Range — 8765-QJT9 shows all hands in range.

Preset Buttons

Quick-select common filters: ACES, ONE PAIR, TWO PAIRS, RUN DOWN, ONE GAP, TWO GAP, RAINBOW, SINGLE SUITED, DOUBLE SUITED, HIGH CARDS, LOW CARDS, HIGH / LOW.

Combining Filters

Use the operator buttons to combine multiple conditions:

AND — hand must match both conditions.
OR — hand must match either condition.
NOT — exclude hands matching the condition.

Click Apply Filter to apply, or Reset to clear all filters.

Flop Analysis (FlopMate)

FlopMate provides postflop equity analysis for range vs range or hand vs range matchups.

How to Use

Open Flop Analysis from the header (or mobile menu).
Select the game type (PLO, PLO8, Limit O, Limit O8).
Click the three flop card slots to pick the board cards.
Set each player's range using the range input fields.
Optionally, click Lock Hand to lock a specific hand for a player (switches to hand vs range mode).
Click Analyze to run the equity calculation.

Importing Ranges

You can import ranges exported from Study Mode. Click Import Range below the Lock Hand button, then select the .txt file you exported earlier.

Sharing & Exporting

Sharing a Strategy Spot

Click the Share button on the poker table to generate a short URL for your current study position (including the strategy, action path, and any applied filters). Copy the link or share it directly.

Exporting Ranges

From the range display, you can export the current range as a .txt file. This file can be imported into FlopMate for postflop analysis, or kept for offline reference.

Account & Billing

Creating an Account

Click Upgrade to Pro in the header and complete the Stripe checkout. Your account is created automatically after payment.

Logging In

Click Login in the header (or mobile menu) and enter your email and password.

Forgot Password

On the login page, click Forgot Password and enter your email. You will receive a reset link. Follow it to set a new password.

My Account

When logged in, click My Account to see your subscription status, next payment date, and options to change your password or cancel your subscription.

Promo Codes

If you have a promo code, enter it in the promo code field on the upgrade checkout form before continuing to payment. Valid codes apply a discount to your monthly subscription.
